One of my favorite parts about the start of the summer is when we drag out our bikes out of the garage and get them ready for the season. When we are up in Maine, we try to bike to as many places as possible; over to a friends house, to the yacht club, to a cocktail party etc.. My mom jokes that a perfect summer day in Maine is one where she never has to get in the car.

Back over Memorial Day Weekend when we were up in Maine for the first weekend of the summer we pulled out all of our bikes and got them ready for the months to come. Two weeks ago, it was also the tail end of lilac season. We sadly don’t have any lilac bushes in our garden (but come hydrangea season we are overly prepared!) However, a close friend invited us over to her house to take as many lilacs as we wanted. So my mom and I hopped on our bikes and headed down the road to grab some flowers to decorate the dinner table with later that night. Our bike baskets were perfect for carrying all of our “stolen” haha flowers back home.

I thought the lilacs looked so perfect in the bike basket that I ran into the house to grab my camera to snap a few pictures when we got home.
