I always love to hear what books someone is reading or get suggestions from friends on what book I should pick up next! I never read as much as I wish I would (I seem to always be wasting too much time on my phone instead.) But in the summer months I always breeze through books a bit more quickly than any other time of year! So with that I wanted to share some of the books I am currently reading or have just finished. I hope one or two might catch your eye and make it on to your bookshelf soon!
The Other Woman by Sadie Jones – A perfect beach read. The mysterious plot keeps changing and turning to keep you hooked and leads you to finish the book in days.
Educated by Tara Westover – If I were to suggest one book from this whole list it would be Educated! This memoir covers the life of a Tara from her childhood in Idaho with her survivalist Mormon family and lack of education to later see her earning a PHD from Cambridge. Fittingly, the memoir has won numerous awards.
Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman – another great beach read! This book will not change your life but a great quick thriller to read over the summer.
Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate – This book tells a shocking and interesting tale of adoption in the 1940s and the lives the children led after adoption. I was shocked to read at the end of the book that it was based off of a real life adoption organization in Memphis.
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty I have always been a fan of Liane Moriarty’s books as they are quick reads and always have a good hook/question that weaves throughout the story and this new novel did not disappoint. Liane is the author behind Big Little Lies!
Tell Me Everything by Cambria Brockman – I just finished this book last week in only 4 days. The novel follows the life of six college friends from their freshman year to their senior year. The secrets they keep from each other and how they start to unravel by the end of senior year. The story takes lots of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat as it is a psychological thriller. I am telling everyone I know to read this book, because I enjoyed it, but also because I really need someone to discuss the ending with! (So if you have read it – let me know!)
P.S. Cambria has a great instagram! She lives in Boston and previously was a wedding photographer. I have followed her for years so it was fun to see her come out with a book!
Is it crazy that I typically read a few books at one time? I like to bounce around. I also like to physically read some and then also listen to some on Audible, so it is good to have options. Right now, I am in the middle of these three. Where the Crawdads Sing is my favorite out of the three (I thought it had a slow start but stick with it!)
Once I get through those three books, I have these three bookmarked to dive into next. But I am always looking for more suggestions! What have you read recently that you loved?
More Than Words by Jill Santopolo (author of The Light We Lost, another book I also enjoyed! I finished it last winter.)
