Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I left New York City for Friday night and hopped on a train out to Connecticut. I went to one of my favorite towns, Salisbury.
I was born and lived in Connecticut till I was 6 years old, then we moved to Massachusetts, but I then returned when I was a teenager for boarding school. The north western corner of Connecticut will always have a warm place in my heart! I think it is one of the prettiest places in the world. Therefore, when a friend of mine heads home to Salisbury for the weekend, I am always quick to tag along. Though I love New York City, there is something to be said for the rolling hills and quiet in the country.
If you are ever looking for a weekend escape from New York, I would highly suggest Salisbury, Connecticut and the Millerton, New York area. It is such a beautiful area!
EAT: Woodlands (for lunch or dinner) Pastoral (dinner) Irving Farms (coffee) Harney & Son (tea and lunch) and last but not least, my all time favorite, Chaiwallas. SHOP: Harney & Son Store and At Home in the Country.
