One of the most wonderful parts about my job in public relations at Blitzer & Company was meeting so many talented interior designers. One of those people is Philip Mitchell!

Philip splits his time between Nova Scotia, Toronto and New York with his husband, Mark, and their two adorable dogs, Wylo and Jacob. Every time I see Philip’s work I am struck by how welcoming the spaces are, from Nova Scotia to Manhattan, he designs rooms that are the perfect meld of traditional and modern, with layers of art and pattern. Possibly one of the best client meetings I have ever had was over cocktails (!!) at Philip’s Upper East Side apartment (which you can see here on One Kings Lane.)

In the July/August issue of Veranda Magazine (out now!) you can find Philip’s beautiful Chester, Nova Scotia home on the cover! This home perfectly exemplifies Philip’s ability to layer patterns, colors and objects in a way that few other designers, if any, can. As soon as you enter a space Philip has designed you are immediately inspired to start a collection! Philip has too many collections to count – brass candlesticks, blue and white china jars, Wedgewood, crystal perfume bottles and more! Keep scrolling to see more of this striking coastal home.
