I am so excited to have my first guest post on the blog today, featuring the wonderful Katy Byrne! I am still relatively new to this blogging world but over the past months I am so happy that I have found Katy’s great interior design blog. Thanks so much for sharing your tips with us today Katy! – Nan
Hello Simply Elegant readers! I’m Katy Byrne from DBK: Designs By Katy. One bonus of blogging is making relationships with other bloggers. Simply Elegant has quickly climbed up my list of favorites and I’m honored to be here today!
I’m a registered interior designer and blogger currently working in Denver, Colorado. DBK focuses on design tips, so today I’m sharing how to style an entry console. Hopefully you’re beginning with a great piece, like this Strathmore console from Vanguard Furnishings. From there, I always add a dramatic art piece or mirror. Make sure the piece you chose is only a few inches smaller than your console on either side for good balance of scale. From there, I would add another light source, like this great red lamp. Then add your “effortless” layers, like the stack of books with a candle and leaning art piece. To top it off I would add a botanical. Orchids are always my go to.
Voila! Looks easy, right? Thanks again for allowing me to share, Nan. Don’t forget to come visit me over at DBK!
