Do you follow the ‘fashion rule’ and stop wearing your white denim after Labor Day? I have never been one for fashion rules or trends…so I say, who cares?! Sometimes I think white denim can look so chic in the winter, especially in the fall when you pair white with other autumn colors like tan or green. Day to day, I tend to stick to neutral pieces but this becomes even more prevalent in the fall as I continually wear sweaters, jeans and boots. Most of my sweaters are solid colors, such as a classic cream cable knit, a key piece for any closet (splurge or save.)
With simple and classic outfits I am starting to think that an eye catching jacket might be necessary. I have a wonderful grey wool coat from Vince that I love but my newest obsession is anything from IRO. Do you all have anything from the french brand? My friend Caroline loves their leather jackets, Abby is eyeing one of their burgundy jackets and Julia from Gal Meets Glam looks wonderful in this fuzzy version. While Vince has been my go-to for outwear and leather jackets historically, I think it is time I add IRO into the mix.
Boots… It is that time of year, boots all day, every day. I am constantly switching between this brown pair, this suede pair or these classic black boots. But somedays I need a pair that are a bit more comfortable and also functional. These Sorel boots have been life savers so far this season, I always reach for them any time it is rainy or muddy (which is often in Vermont..) And how could you not love the forest green hue. Do you have a favorite boot for the fall weather?
