“Summer vacation is a cherished part of the American dream.

We long for a place to retreat to with our family where we can escape from our normal routine and, if we’re lucky enough to return to the same place from summer to summer, create traditions.”

To me, few things are more perfect than a summer evening on the coast or waking up to the sound of the ocean waves crashing on a July morning. When I heard about Vendome’s publication of Jennifer Ash Rudick’s Summer to SummerI was anxious to dive into the 360-page book highlighting summer homes up and down the East Coast.

For two summers, Jennifer and Tria Giovan, the acclaimed photographer, traveled from Nantucket to Block Island and the coast of Maine to the shores of Newport to document a range of beautiful homes. From Sister Parish’s layered and colorful home in Maine to David Netto’s modern Hampton’s house, the book documents a variety of styles and aesthetics.

Like Jennifer’s other titles, Palm Beach Chic and Out East: Houses and Gardens of the Hamptons, I suggest adding Summer to Summer: Houses by The Sea to your bookshelf!
