Countless thanks go to my friend and fantastic interior designer, Lilse McKenna, who brought the space to life! I am continually impressed by Lilse’s ability to take my ideas and make it one thousand times better than I could have imagined. I love her ability to mix patterns to create a layered space. I am continually blown away by her talent, and on top of it all, she is a total gem – simply one of the nicest people around!
We worked with Schumacher, the iconic fabric and wallpaper brand, for the fabrics throughout the living room. I have long admired Schumacher for the wide breath of offerings, creativity and for being leaders in the interior design industry. Brighton Pavillion from Schumacher’s collection with Miles Redd was the jumping-off point for the room design. I love the bold blue Samarkand Ikat Lilse chose for the banquet. She also found some beautiful smaller scale prints from Schumacher for the throw pillows, such as Kalika Paisley Print and Nose Gay from Celerie Kemble’s collection. There are almost too many beautiful fabrics to count!
The wonderful team at Schumacher graciously brought Max Kimbee over to photograph the living room space. It is such an honor to have Schumacher share the living room on The Edit, their editorial site, and @schumacher1889.
